Reaseheath JuJitsu
The Reaseheath Jujitsu CLub was formed in 2011 by Sensei Chris Mann, 1st Dan, who started training at the Tajima Jujitsu Club in Chester under 5th Dan, Brian Healey.
The club was originally formed at Reaseheath College with the help of the Students, and over the last 6 years has hosted over 150 members. Training takes place at the college on a Monday and Wednesday nights for the college students, staff and some members of the junior section.
In October 2016 Sensei Chris set up the Junior Section at St.Anne's School in Nantwich with children able to train from the age of 6. We now have a regular cohort of 15 children each week.
The kids have great fun as well as being taught some very important life skills such as not tolerating bullying and not approaching strangers.
In Chris's own words - "As well as JuJitsu being a very effective self-defence, it is a great way of meeting new people, making friends for life, building confidence as well as fitness and stamina."
Unlike many other martial arts clubs gradings are taken on merit, rather than based on how long you have been training and does not involve having to pay substantial costs for each grading.
Your first lesson is free, so come along and see what you think. Beginners are welcome to wear track suit bottoms and a T-shirt until they are sure that they want to purchase a Gi (training uniform).
Training sessions are each Saturday morning 10am - 11.30am.
During the year we asked to take part in various demonstrations at the College Family Festival as well as Village Fete's which the juniors love - what a buzz to see their confidence grow, exuberance shine and quite simply have great fun!!
